AK-LH: Circulatory System Arm Chairs

While some people might pass on the opportunity to sit in one of these anatomically inspired armchairs, we love our design and decor with a certain quirkiness. Named, 'Flow' these chairs are from AK-LH; whose off-beat style upsets fixed ideas and applies unusual silhouettes and organic matters to everyday artifacts. Following ethical and quality convictions, the whole AK-LH range of artifacts is made in France by the best craftsmen. Click through for more on these super fun pieces...

There are 7 of these chairs floating around Europe (their products haven't quite reached the US yet unfortunately), signed and numbered. Judging by their website, there is quite the line of products that can be found if you live across the pond; everything from placemats and aprons to pillows and other assorted chairs. Keep your fingers crossed for the work of AK-LH coming to a store near you soon!

Did you get the idea for this from Gregory's post today?

Love it! Grotesque in a good way, and altogether cool.

Hilarious in a cardiologists office, not that I want my heart doc to have such a twisted sense of humor. Anywhere else? An elementary school classroom maybe?

Deja vu all over again! This is a nicer looking photo, though.

bepsf - My apologies, I have been away from the computer most the day. I guess great minds think alike here on AT, no matter which city you're in!

ah---no. But when I first glanced at it, I liked the combination of red and white on the gray. Instead, how about the image of branch coral on the gray?

One note. I agree with kelleyk that these might go in a cardiologist's office but the thought of looking at it every day in a home....no.

Hi, I'm a deliberate weirdo. I think maybe it is weird that we put flowers all over things, which are scientific organisms with all their partsy parts, then we observe that it is beautiful, but largely ignore our own insides. They're inside so we don't have to look at them. Maybe. I don't like these, it's so how can we make something oddly repellent by graphically representing it - on a chair. An antique medical poster is one thing, but sitting on a cartoon of the circulatory system is just self-consciously kooky. It's meant to be provocative and "different" but it's I don't know, meh, too on the nose; do whatever you like, but I won't be impressed because you define yourself with things like this.
