Dramatic Seating by Old Hickory Tannery

Maybe you're not feeling the square lines of contemporary sofas? Finding yourself clicking over to Brocade Home to see some glitzier furniture? We recently looked at a line of sofas and settees by Old Hickory Tannery and they are all about the drama - from curvy lines and baroque flourishes to luxe finishes and details (linen, leather, nailheads, down-stuffing). What do you think of these statement pieces?

2. Linen Ticking Striped Settee with Velvet Down-filled Cushion, $2999.
3. Birds and Blossoms Print Upholstery Sofa in Celery with Maple Legs, $2899.
4.Rouge Orient Sofa with Asian Toile and Maple Frame with Cherry Finish, $4389.
5. Green Leather Sofa with Carved Maple Frame and Nailhead Trim, $5999.

All pieces shown available at Horchow. Old Hickory is also available in Chicago through CAI Designs in the Mart and Refined Rustic Studio.

i wish i could afford any one of these. sending thoughts out into the universe to send me one for my bedroom - no gift-wrapping necessary.

now i want to stretch out and read a good book until i drop off to sleep.

The only one I like is the one in the lead pic but boy, oh boy, do I ever like it! The styling of the shot with the art and the green cushions is fantastic!

Horchow has some great pieces and frequent 15-20% off sales.

There is something very wrong with the proportions of that second settee: the back reminds me of a tiny kid sitting at a tall table, just peering over the edge.

But, *sigh* I am lusting after the chesterfield in the third picture...

Please, it is ridiculous to buy sofas without testing them first. No matter how pretty they are. I learned that lesson the hard way. I have a to-die-for chocolate leather chesterfield from France, and it's suitable only for perching and putting on shoes, or leafing through mail.
