Weigh In: Which Color "Confluences" Would You Choose?

Confluences is the brand new line from Ligne Roset designed by Phillipe Nigro (the Apartment Therapy interview with the designer is right here). It feels like an "important" design - a possible future classic. We love the shapes and the way they fit together and can be configured in different ways but, hands down, our favorite thing about the design is the use of color. The range of colors within each piece is so unusual, yet strikes us as "just right" in each circumstance, from the...

... ocean-tinged blues and the fresh greens to the moody plums and warm golds. In fact, if we were bringing a sofa home from Ligne Roset, it would be a very tough decision.

Shown above, left to right:

2. Greens
3. Plums
4. Golds

We're curious - which you you choose? Which do you think would be the best bet for long-term desirablility and ease to work in with other colors?

the plums look most comfortable of all for some reason.

Future classic? Lacking IMO.

I like them, they're like little lazy color coordinated square foams hanging out while you're off to work.

(like jay and silent bob.)

not really my style, but i think they're kind of fun looking -- and with regards to the colors - they remind me of post-it stacks....

I think they're kinda cute. Could see these as a statement piece in a cool office.

Oh, Ligne Roset, why must you continually taunt me and my lack of excessive funds to spend on designer furniture so beautiful that I don't even care if it is comfortable....or furntiture so comfortable that I don't even care if it is beautiful.

I love you, Ligne Roset.

I love these- and agree about the colors being hard to choose from. I think the blues would be my choice, but only because I have been drawn to those blues for years and years... though the greens and plums are also tempting. I think these would be great in a family room (mine) where kids and adults could lounge and be comfortable watching TV and hanging out. I wish the ends had arms. Great for a teenagers space too. For the record, I have also always been partial to gradient colors...

Hi,

I'm sitting on a 30 years-old sofa by Ligne Roset as I write these lines. It's just so comfortable and indestructible, and I wish I could get a new cover for it.

I'm not so sure about these. I'm wondering about the fabric used, and they doesn't look as comfortable. They are very designed, but lack the essential for me: I don't want to curl up in them. They say design to me, but not home.

As far as color goes, I like the plum ones, because there's basically a white, a light brown and a greyish color. But the bright colors are in keeping with Ligne Roset's philosophy: my personal favorite is the Pumpkin model, which comes in saturated hues (bright orange, bright pink...). I can't pay that much and take the risk of being tired of a 4000 Euros sofas in a few years.

I picked "plums" mostly for the shape, not the color. These are so simple, the slip-covering possibilities seem endless...

I like this a lot, NOW, but I feel a bit like the design might seem too "trendy" in a while and I might not like it so well then.

Also, something with this much presence seems to call out for a pretty large loft-like space with other minimalist furnishings. Since my home has small rooms and a more traditional vibe (than this, not strictly traditional...) I suspect it would just look out of place.

But if I had the right space for it and the bucks, I would consider it for sure. (I chose green because my current decor leans that way, but all the colors (including combining them) have potential in the right space. I don't dislike any of them.)

Just my opinion, but I think there are significantly more interesting seating choices out there, especially for the money.

The actual sofas, not so much but I did go for the blues, namely it's one of my favorite colors, along with yellow and red and these just have that cool, relaxing feeling to them colorwise which is fantastic on hot days like we've had this week and there is something arresting about the intense shades of blue (such as Azure blue, sea blue or turquoise) that in many ways calms one down.

I love to take a long soak in the tub w/ no lights other than what's in the living room and light tea lights in cobalt blue glass holders on the vanity counter to look at. So relaxing.
