Comfort, when sitting as well as carrying the knocked-down piece, has certainly been considered: "In an unorthodox approach, the legs are not in the corners but instead in the centers, providing increased stability and leaving a space for the sitter's feet. The capsule-shaped opening in the chair back makes room for the sitter's spine and doubles as a handle for transport."

The money you're saving on living in a small place might come in useful for the $375 chairs (plus $50 for Chinese red finish or maple). As for the cute tables (coffee table, end table, and dining table), we think the knock-down/drag-out concept is also great for avoiding clutter, since our tables tend to collect a lot of stuff by the end of the day. Shown here is the Jr. Coffee Table, available in walnut or maple plywood, sizing up at 48"L x 22"W x 16.5"H for $450.
(Thanks, Andy!)
I have the coffee table and I love it. The service I received from Material Furniture was wonderful. The coffee table is beautiful. Now I'd like to save up for the dining table...
