Lowry Nightstand, Chests and Dresser

2007-02-15-lowry.jpgThis month we've looked at some beds and bedding, but are now looking toward the other furniture that often is in the bedroom, nightstands and dressers.

Inspired by mid-c design, the new Lowry line from Room and Board has some nice choices.

They are available in walnut and cherry veneers. Sizes are fairly compact and their tall legs will keep things from looking claustrophobic in what is often a smaller room in the apartment.

The nightstand is $299., a 3 drawer chest is $599. and the 5 drawer chest is $799. A wide six drawer dresser is $899.

Available at Room and Board.

Wow - this series lookes exactly like a set of dressers I got from my parents. They bought them when they were married in 1953 and are solid Walnut (we can only imagine how much that would cost these days). I was just talking about how they were coming back into style! I actually have one of them in my bedroom right now and the Lowry nightstands would be a nice compliment!

The Lowry line looks nice in the catalogue and even in person, but when I actually touched the pieces and began opening and closing the drawers they felt a little cheap to me. Like peices from IKEA- not necesarrily a bad thing but for the price i'd expect something at least one step above IKEA.

I agree. I was looking at this line for my bedroom, but the craftmanship left a bit to be desired. They look nice, but the drawers felt real cheap. $300 for a 1-drawer nightstand should feel a bit better than this.
