We have a secretary that was inherited from my grandma. Although we love it, it's been a challenge figuring out how to best fit it into our decor and put it to use on a daily basis. On Windsor Smith's site, we found some gorgeous examples of secretaries and armoires, along with a few tips on how to make the most of them at home...

I wanted use a vintage secretary that I found on CL several months back as a media center...

...but I soon realized when it arrived in my apartment that older secretaries often have fixed-in-place shelves which are impossible to remove - so the flatscreen dreams for my den were dashed.

I would love ANY piece of furniture which holds that much liquor. This is absolutely beautiful.
