Books Lining a Console Table

4-4-08booktable.jpg

We found this photo at Content by Conran and really like the way the books are lined up along the back of the console table. We did this along our mantle with all our white paperbacks a while ago...

To make some extra room on your shelves, you can take a group of books in the same size and color, and line them up along the back of a table, desk, or sill. We also like the way two boxes are used as bookends, although other household objects work, too.

Nice. I did that in my kitchen with cookbooks and it works pretty well. I have so many books that I'm always looking for creative book storage.

If you have the space, this would be a nice, relaxed look for your landing strip too. Or a pseudo vanity table in your bedroom. Put your jewelry box there but with some books...
I have so little space in my apartment that every surface must have some storage capacity below it. Even my coffee table has another shelf below to store magazines, remotes, Kleenex.
