Reed Space was designed by Japan-based Upsetters Architects. The project caught our attention with that wall of chairs shelves. The shelves are made of chairs anchored in rows into the wall. The seats of the chairs make up the actual shelves, with the backs and legs acting as support "brackets"...





ummm...looks a bit too much like an ikea showroom for my taste...

Reminds me of Shaker interiors, where EXTRA chairs are hung on wall pegs to be out of the way for cleaning and so on. It's an ok look for a large public interior, but for a home, not so much -- most of us would prefer the dual use of having functional chairs that we can set things on when needed...
