When we saw this image of a reading nook from IKEA's site, we thought, "Huh. That's pretty cool...and it looks like a few photos we've seen before." This room picks up on several trends including dividing space with curtains and creating a reading nook at home. Click below for other rooms that use the same concepts in different arrangements...

The basic elements of these rooms aren't hard to recreate - floor-length curtains, wall-to-wall shelving, and a comfy place to sit. The IKEA room breaks down its resources into cheap furnishings, but you can also mix up high and low or old and new elements for a more personalized look. Nicole and Brandon's library is so lovely... I wish I had a place big enough to allow a sectioned-off nook. Love the curtains to separate the space.

HOLY CRAP!

that first photo is PRECISELY what I've been planning to do with my 6'x12' (itty bitty and very narrow) spare room.
the dimensions look really close to what I have, perhaps a bit wider, but even the window is placed the same!
I plan to use wall-mounted shelving save on space a bit, but AWESOME.
it's great to see it in action outside of my head and know it's totally workable.

Nicole and Brandon's library has been a fave of mine for a while now -- I covet that chair ottoman.
