Inspiration: Walls of Bookshelves

Bookshelves are the original modular furniture. Stacked up, down, and side-by-side, they can line a whole wall or just a little nook. They look great in pairs, even better in threes, and if you've got a large open space where you can fit four or more - go for it. My wife and I have built in 12 foot tall bookshelves that dominate our den/living room.
It's been a bear trying to figure out that magic moment when it changes from cool and colorful to just plain clutter.

Wow! Some of those are awesome! We have a small wall of books but are needing to find room for more as we have piles appearing all over the flat.

We've decided to design and build a built-in for our living room. It'll be an office with two desks, bookshelves, cabinets, etc. THe idea is to make it all enclosable, to hide everything (I'm a stereotypical messy creative), so as not to junk up the living room. Wish me luck!
