Multi-Purpose Furniture from Tomita Designs
The Megu ($200) updates the classic shelf/table/stool combination of Max Bill's 1954 Ulmer Hocker. While the Ulmer Hocker was constructed of pine with a dowel rod support, the Megu is made of bamboo in two contrasting finishes.
As a coffee table, it provides space for books under the tabletop. As shelving, it supports itself both horizontally and vertically.
The Chabu bench is available in small ($250) and large ($300) sizes. Benches can be used as shelving, a seat, or a coffee table.
