A current classic changes color. Bruno Rainaldi's popular shelving has undergone a change, from grey to white. You may remember Andreas's shelf from his house tour last year. In his mostly white space, the dark color looks great; it's a nice bit of contrast. Part of the appeal of the Sapien design is that the books take centerstage and the actual shelving disappears, so white might be an interesting choice as well.

I love this bookcase and have secretly wanted to covet one for the longest...but I can't justify paying DWR the asking price for one.
I just can't. :-(
i, too, have lusted after these shelves. cb2 and west elm both have versions of this...sadly they are around the same price! curses.
I just picked up the grey version from DWR during the 10% off sale. I'm stunned by how well made it is... It's HEAVY and solid and will last forever. I looked at both the CB2 and West Elm versions and they don't even come close, especially considering they're around the same price as Merry noted.
It was a decent chuck of change for me (to spend on a bookshelf), but I'm glad I got one.

Don't worry, Keisha Kornbread and merry, prices will eventually come down. This idea is too good for the knock-off merchants to leave alone. If you can bear to think of knock-offs... In NZ currency, the prices are nearly double. Think of that!

I am looking for a white sapien bookcase (Tall) DWR no longer carry it in white. Any suggestions? West Elm version is not an option. Thank you.
