Storage Pieces from The Art Institute Museum Shop

100908waterhyacinth.jpgWhen chilly weather hits, our excitement for afternoons at the museums hits, too. Inevitably a day looking at art leads us to the museum shop - usually just to look. But for those in shopping and home organizing mode, we found some storage options at The Art Institute shop worth studying (and/or buying):

While the Art Institute shop can have some interesting stuff, some of this is way overpriced. I got a recycled paper magazine rack almost identical to the one shown here for about $30 at Pier One.

The magazine boxes (the same ones exactly) are at Marshall's for ten dollars each. What a rip off.

It's a museum's gift shop. Of course it's a rip off. That's one of the biggest ways they make profit, so they jack up the prices. Same thing with food in a movie theater.

And yet, people still buy...

If I'm going to shop for organization stuff, I'm sure not going to do it at a museum gift shop.
