We're not clear on how stable the boxes are when stacked. Should we be afraid of a falling tower of shoes? But, the photos make them appear secure with endless configuration options. Side tables or room dividers, anyone?
A few intrigues: Colorful, fun designs; collapsible when not in use; possibility to serve as a functional showpiece in any bedroom.
Each box sells for $17. Thoughts?
how do you buy these suckas?
very cute. but i couldn't spend that much on shoe boxes, especially because i have a LOT of shoes. i can buy the container store boxes for $2 each and put the remaining $15 difference towards more new shoes instead!
i think this could make for a very cool landing strip option for those of us who don't wear shoes in the house. not so much for hidden away shoe storage, but as a nicely designated area for shoes, maybe stacked a couple boxes high under an occasional table or somesuch.
LOVE these, but agree that i would rather spend the money on shoes. but I could see buying a few and using them for an end table, maybe even displaying some of my favorite pairs in rotation...
also, i keep my shoes in regular boxes *because* my space is very limited - these boxes seem like they would work best in a very spacious lofty apartment - as in the photo. they don't seem like much of a spacesaver, just the opposite.
I too am thinking of landing strip. The shoes pile up at our door andI'd been thinking of building some sort of cubby shelf. What are they made of though? How strong are they and how easy to clean? Materials, materials, materials.
Sara, from the site:
"The 'Hotel' box concept is made of the finest quality paper ware from the United Kingdom. You buy them collapsed and sealed in plastic folio. Whenever you need them you take them out, fold them into boxes, zip them with a pair of rubber bands, and they are ready to go. They can safely be stacked in up to 10 feet towers fixed through a center screw at the top of the box and they can be set up as shelves crawling along the walls by using some joints supporters, and all in between. Finally a dust lid is snapped into place through the opening in front, making this the window for display."
