handz... I've bought several String shelving units on Ebay in Europe for very low prices (e.g 3 shelves 2 side pieces €30). There are always some on offer, not always the originals though, but many others look great too.

I love my Rakks (tension-mounted, floor-to-ceiling) bookshelves! The Shelf Shop sells them in nyc. Not wall-mounted, but even better....

Found them on the German page, Ebay.de, but that also shows offers in Austria, Switzerland etc. Just looked now and there are about 20 on offer, they usually ship all over Europe. Search for String regal (German for shelf). Happy hunting!

... but the Elfa shelves are just fancy standard-and-bracket shelving, which are available a lot cheaper at almost any hardware or home improvement store.
