I think that if I was in a room with that hypnotic wallpaper for over half an hour, I would end with a subliminal urge to rush to the nearest florist's and buy daisies while singing Scott Mackenzie .

Okay, I'm kinda laughing at the Obama poster appearing in the content after mods took such a stand against political ads on the site. Dare I say it isn't really even related to AT topics at all?
I don't mind either way. I just thought it was interesting.

I realize Prop 8 is a sensitive issue for many and glad that I was spared seeing the ads from it, but the announcement earlier seems particular to that political campaign, because, like I mentioned in that thread, if they were really telling the truth about a policy of blocking all political ads, I wouldn't have been looking at NO on Question 1 ads in Massachusetts, if not every day, most days for over a month, including today. It's not quite as relevant to the AT demographic, but it's still a political ad they've let run with no apparent efforts to block it. Not to mention the plethora of presidential-related articles... which usually are clever enough not to overtly endorse one candidate over the other, but get in controversial (= hits to the site) topics that have little, if anything, to do with the mission of the site. I think the mission has shifted to increase web hits and revenue and putting out little fires when a large portion of the demographic writes in to have ads removed.
Those girls on the poster look unhappy.

The poster with the girls is a kind of knock off of a poster from the 60's with Joan Baez and her sisters. That poster was protesting the Vietnam War. I'm suprised this wasn't mentioned here or on the Cup of Jo website.

I will be so glad when this election is over. Hopefully, then we won't have to put up with these stupid adolescent posts.

Gosh, yes, grown-ups don't care about politics at all.
WTF?

Also, I hate that Obama poster.

Uh, I don't care who Janel is supporting for president. I really wish she would keep her political views to herself and stop trying to force them on everyone else.
Uh, the same goes for you Jezebella.

AT: a few posts down, you wrote up this whole spiel about not allowing political ads. i am sure this is going to sound a lot ruder than i mean it to be, and truly i apologize in advance, but please get your act together.
