In case anyone is wondering - the "rug" in the Jaipur photograph is actually not a rug. It's a Suzani, which is a type of silk embroidery from Uzbekistan. These are made for women's dowries, and large ones this nice are pretty valuable. I'd not want to walk on something like this one (or any of them actually). It's one of the nicest examples I've seen in a room.
The ones at the link below (that I only just now found by googling for "suzani") has some other exquisite ones at pretty reasonable prices (under a grand).

But, buyer beware. Personally I would not by *any* suzani that's not silk, or not guaranteed to be Uzbek made.
If you look for them, look for anything by the Lakay tribe if you like the more exotic designs.
There also some great suzani pillows on the site. I've seen them go for double these prices in collectors sales.
This traditional kapunuk is interesting too (the Lakay ones are a lot interesting/exotic though, in my opinion).

Hope this inspires somebody to learn more...I really admire the workmanship, myself.
One of these days maybe I'll find an old napramash in nice shape that I can afford.
