Um... I like the lilly in the first shot.

I think you've done well with what you have and your place is very functional, but I don't see a lot of design here.

These photos (esp. #2) make it tough to figure out how the space all works together.

Like Erin said, it is functional... but it isn't following any design. Also, the photos leave little for us to see what is in the space.

i fear for you when the clutter-hating commentors see this place.

there doesnt seem to be any unity in your apartment at all...aside from the Asian fans and the sword (?) hanging on the wall, i dont see anything that "goes" together. its not like things have to match, but it seems like the only furniture that has a common theme are all the plastic storage bins.

i don't see anything cohesive, at all. I'm trying to see some kind of thread that ties things together, like a color scheme or a style but I just don't see one.

The bedroom looks a bit crazy. I love your bedspread; why don't you try to carry those colors through the rest of the space? The purple drawers & the red cloth are just a bit jarring. This is just personal preference here but those lean-to pillows make me cringe. Sorry.

I think you've done a great job in terms of making this a liveable space. It looks organised and comfortable. Kudos!

However, I get the sense (and I may be wrong) that much of what is in the apartment (furniture, wall decorations) were obtained passively and didn't involve much forethought. I think this is something that could be improved.

Beautiful floorplan.

Geesh, I thought I had too much furniture. I have a third of that and 950 sq. feet! (and 13 windows)

I'm not sure how I feel about the space, but I do have a problem with the photos. :( I look at some of the other entries that got higher marks and think, Wow, what a great space, but then upon reflection, they're really just nice photos and a completely average living space.

I think with more refined photography techniques --better lighting, different angles, better composition/focus-- this space very well could get higher votes. As it is, the second photo doesn't really show me anything --not because it's too dark (though it is), but because it doesn't show how well you used the space. Well, I could go on all day, so maybe you should skip over to AT's How To:

As far as the space itself goes, maybe instead of so many different storage options, one larger piece would be better? (Probably would have cost the same as all of the little ones combined.) Or maybe section off a space and do floor-to-ceiling curtains with some great fabric? Then all of the storage would be consolidated and not so cluttered?

While this space may not be contest-worthy quite yet, it has great potential! Keep working!

I agree with gretchen. This entry needs some more editing, some more decluttering, and a couple threads to tie the place together.

Looks like "Before" pictures. After you get those degrees, hit Armani/Casa, you can show us the "After"!
