What is the advantage of SMALL? I like it because it is cute and cozy, the street that we live on is also kind of small and hidden. A house this size is easier to wrap your mind around, easier to clean, easier to furnish, probably better for the environment, cheaper to maintain. We bought this place over other places that were larger because it felt good to be in, that's what's important.

Great colors. Great dog!

Hooray, one from Madison! I really like the different chairs you have.

I love your space and you have some great furniture (and a damn cute dog!). The only thing that I personally couldn't deal with is a red room - gives me major anxiety!

Love the cats and the dog!
Adored the blue living room with the orange chair. And the red bedroom! Fantastic. Great use of color.

This looks like a really warm and comfortable place to live, and the boston only adds to that. Mine is next to me, munching his stuffed piglet.

i'm in lust with bungalows. i want one! i want one now!

The red bedroom - I was a little scared when I did it. When I was painting it I kept having to leave the room so me eyes could adjust. However, now that it's done it's great. At night when the room is low lit, it just appears warm and rich. The only time it looks garish is when the overhead lights are on. This pic came out kind of bright - it doesn't really seem like that when you are in the room. The whole thing is definitely a work in progress. Thanks for the props and interest.
PS: dog is ernie

An entry from my home town! I love it!
I wonder how it look with the woodwork painted white?
Check out Southwest's entry #27 Josh's, very similar to your entry.

I love the orange chair, but not that red room- though I am willing to believe it comes across quite differently in person. Cute dog!

Fabulous colors, and your pets are adorable!

Kudos for the non-white woodwork. It ties the rooms together and coordinates colours that otherwise might not play well together. Also appropriate for the bungalow.

Yeah!! Happy colours and a sweet poochini. Who could ask for more? LOVE this. ;)

The only reason I didn't go for Super Cool was because of the bathroom. It's so vibrant and alive in the rest of the house, then you get to the bathroom and it's almost like it's in another house. It may still be in the plans or whatever, which would be cool, but for now it was a color buzz-kill :(
The peaked archway is wonderful though, you're so lucky!

I love your dog! awwwww! I love the colors you use on your walls.
view katekaye's profile
my favorite! is the wall in the first picture faded from blue to white, or just the lighting?

It's just the light

I love this one. The animals are precious and I love the colors.

I'm with That70sHeidi. Supercool, except for the bathroom.

This is such a lovely apartment. Very nicely done.
And this entry should get lots of extra points for showing the bathroom. Most entrants flat-out refuse to show their bathrooms.

I made a vow during this contest not to be swayed by the appearance of cute little creatures in the entries. So, my Supercool had nothing to do with the menangerie.
I kept looking at the colors and thinking, that shouldn't work so well. But it does.

This is lovely! Your color choices are great, and I love the modern style that's warm rather than frigid and hospital-ish. Go Madison!

What is the name/brand of the light blue paint you used in the living room? I have a couch the colour of that chair, and I love how it looks against the blue... Thanks

With the spare furniture, the bright colors are terrific, and the vibe continues throughout the apartment. Great job. Those black shelves, though. They make me nervous. Why so high?

Fabulous. A color palette after my own heart.

The bathroom colors are actually MORE saturated than the pic turned out. Kind of a blue - lavender. Really, though, we haven't done much to the bathroom. We're saving for a major renovation there.
view artybastard's profile
The black shelves may appear higher than they are because of the angle that I took this one at. I was sitting down on the floor.
view artybastard's profile
The color of the office with the orange chair is actually kind of a 50's light greenish-blue (celadon?) That was the only wall that we left when we moved in. It was probably last painted in the 50's. The daylight bouncing off of snow and filtering through the cellular shades probably cools the color down some.

Ernie is the bomb.

It had to finally happen that there would eventually be another Curtis besides me on AT. Meanwhile, I love how rich these colors are!

I love the red rug in front of the sofa. Where is it from?
P.S. Hurray for Bostons!!! Ernie looks like mine.

Those bathroom tiles make me feel so sorry for you. I hope you win some prize money to put towards that dream reno you're saving for! The rest of the place is great!
view buzzybee's profile
The bathroom has a 80's light fixture. It is screaming update me. The furniture looks like warehouse (IKEA) stockroom buys. Maybe keep working with it and the look will come together. Overall, quite impressive.

The blue and orange, they are EXACTLY the colors I am looking for. Post the names/#s please!!
You really should enter the colors contest when it comes around.
And the dog is precious.
