What's your favorite resource for your home?

Magazines. I'm like so many people. I collect images that inspire me. Whether it's floor plans, fabrics, furniture, etc.

What is your one favorite element in your small, cool home?

I love the architectural details of our apartment. My landlords have done a great job in making sure that these detail have not been lost over the years. I also love the way that more contemporary pieces play off these.

Gorgeous. There's something I love in every picture, right up to the itchy-scratchy floorplan.

One small question though: why do you get to question everything that I bring into my home? (Yay for kicks for grammar nerds!)

I love everything about this apartment. Surely a finalist in my book.

Now, this is my style- which means I want to see more of it... love the mix of retro and modern furniture, all the texture, the simplicity, the colors.
Love that bedspread - source please?
Thanks.

Amazing! Love it, especially how all of the different woods seem to just blend together in perfect harmony!

Great work!

i like what i see but the pics are horrendous. you can't see crap or get any sense of the place and the overall design/decor and space. darn.

I love the moods the photos capture and this looks like a very sweet home. Delightful bears in the bedroom and the print curtain beautifully complements. Want to go there.

Ditto on the trim, is it painted black, brown? It never would have occured to me to do that but i love the look!

Also love your hope chest and other well edited retro furnishings.
I too am trying to find ways to fit peices like that into my husbands minimalist style.

Lovely sun-soaked photographs, leaves me wanting more. I'd love to know where that sofa hails from.

Great place and great photos -- while they may not show everything in each room, they really give a feel for the place, which IMHO is far more important in determining 'coolness'

Wonderful! You had me at the cedar chest and the chest of drawers. What is the art piece above the chest?

This is great; it reminds me of the first SC contest.

i really like this. out of all the entries i've seen this is a perfect blend of old and new. it's clean&streamlined yet not sterile. it looks comforting and welcoming. it's a home not just an apartment. well done.
definately a finalist. i want 10 more pictures to fawn over.
however...when you do win...where will you put all that room and board furniture?

Details are lovely but I can't get a sense of the overall space. Too bad. I voted cool for what I saw, but I don't vote super-cool unless I get a sense that the space is used efficiently.

Wow, this space is really incredible. The blanket on the bad is almost architecture. I can't put my finger on why I love it, but I do - the flow, the colors. Great job.

Too many close-ups, didn't really get a feel for the rooms, as I couldn't see enough of them.
This is by the way a mistake that a lot of entries made in my opinion.

Its hard to get a sense from the photos, even tho they are all spectacular pics. I especially love the last - I used to have that light in my old place! Now, sadly, its all melancholy nothern exposure.

Still, awesome place, nicely curated, VERY well put together and considered....but not enough to tip it over to SuperCool.

Dude seriously is everyone looking at a different apt than I am? All I saw was half a curtain, a little bit of a lamp, some books, oh wait I saw the entire hideous floral table cloth that looks like the plastic one my grandmother has in her basement...ya cool :(

Nice attention to detail - all the elements seem to work very well together. I also like how you've made the entry into a useful space. And... I don't understand why others are complaining about the photos - I think they're great.

I really want to see more. Gorgeous details. This seems to be the sort of warm, vintage modern place I love. I was very happy to see a Lane trunk residing happily with more tailored pieces, for instance. Overall, though, need a better sense of the apartment as a whole.
