Location: Chicago, Illinois
Size: 860 square feet

What is your one favorite element in your small, cool home? Definitely the color choices. I love color, it defines the space and makes our place feel larger. If i have to pick one element though, its the green wall in our media room with the branches.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced in furnishing your small home? I love furniture! I wanted to incorporate as much as I could into the space. Living in the city, I found lots of retailers that have furniture specifically designed for smaller spaces.

I drew out several floorplans to best utilize as many elements as possible.

Yeah, the bed looks like it has a wood frame around the mattress and when you sit on the edge - owww! But, I am also intrigued by your string? wall-art above the sofa. Did you make it? Really cool place.

The bed looks like it would hurt to get in and out of. The whole place is awesome though, love the green wall in the media room.

What did you use to create backlighting behind the sofa in the media room?

In the second photo, what are the 2 black circles on the small wall that is half dark gray/half blue? It's beautiful.

Is the bed DIY? What about the padded headboard squares?

Great space, but not feelin' the bed. In most cases, form really should follow function. Making the bed looks like a good way to scrape up your forearms.
