We've been impressed by the DIY projects that keep springing up in our Midwestern Spring Cure group including a lamp makeover, a windowsill garden, homemade landing strips, refurbished furniture, and a ton of painting. If you're looking for motivation for your own DIY undertaking, take a peek below and see what the Curers have done for very little money in their homes. Follow the caption links to their Flickr pages to learn more about each project.

does anyone know where (in SF or online) i can get a windowsill planter like that green one?

Hi Bethanylemony -- The green planter is from Home Depot. It was part of a kit that included everything (soil, planter, basil, chive, and parsley seeds) except the water and sunshine. I'm green thumb challenged, so this project is a big adventure for me.
Good luck with your project!

Sarahc--you are a true encourager. Just looking at these images is making my fingers itch to tackle some other project---something, anything!
It's been fun being a part of the Chicago group.

It has been such a great seven weeks doing the cure. I set my goals way too high to start, but am very happy with what is going to be done at the end of week eight. I have my office organized, clean, and somewhat presentable. My bedroom will be finished on Friday and my dining room next week. I will start the cure on my kitchen, hallway, and living room in the Fall cure. I may start on my kitchen this summer, it is going to take some major bone work to make it better. Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I can't believe I had lived in my cottage for four months and got more done in eight weeks with the cure.
