We just bought a vintage industrial oven/stove secondhand. It needs a thorough clean-up, including refinishing a front panel. After deciding to get the panel plated in nickel, Wilmette Hardware came to us on strong recommendation. From the windows outside and through the front door, this charming storefront oozes old-world charm. We could have stared at the hundreds of vintage doorknobs, push plates, hardware and locks all day.
It's almost like a mini museum of the most detailed, antique accents that a lot of homes take for granted. Combine the rich collections with restoration and finishing services and you've got a one-of-a-kind shop.
Any reviews from people who've used the either Al Bar Platers or Wilmette Hardware before?

NOTE: Just realized Janel posted a reader review of Wilmette Hardware in '07. See original post here.
Heather thanks for the tip - have never heard of Wilmette Hardware before (missed Janel's post). I live in NY, but my sister lives in Wilmette. I will definitely make a stop here on my next visit home.
Are you going to show us your new stove?
