Having lived in Estonia, I long for the day I own my house so I can have a sauna. They are fantastic.

I love the way a sauna smells!

Especially when you pour beer on the rocks...then it smells like you're inside an oven cooking a loaf of bread.

Budfox2, you hit the nail on the head. I have a sauna in my flat and just whack loads of water on to get it steamy.

Akino Luna, not heard the beer one before, I usually use essential oils to chillout!!!!

Having been fortunate enough to live in homes with both during my life (spoiled, I know), I have to say I prefer the sauna.

I grew up with a sauna at my Finnish grandparents' basement in chilly Northern Minnesota. I now have two -- one in my NYC apartment (electric stove and infrared), and a wood burning sauna at our cabin in the woods. Both provide the steam needed by throwing water on the rocks. And the wood burning one is beyond amazing.

I really enjoy steam rooms, they exponge all the contaminents in our bodies. Similarly there steam cleaner products out there that clean your home. Kinda like a steam iron, but for the house. Kinda cool
