Survey: Will You Shop at H&M for the Home?

hmhome2120108.jpg As we went to publish our post, we saw that AT:DC took a sneak peek at the brand new H&M Home lines earlier today, so we decided to turn our post into a survey on the subject. What do you think? Is there room for another low price retail giant in the home goods market? If they bring the home goods to the US, will you shop there?

Fun designs, and if they carry the less-expensive price tag that H&M items usually carry, they could help provide some fun trendy accessory pieces that I wouldn't mind parting with if I get tired of them after a year or so (how unsustainable of me!)

and if they keep their nyc stores stocked as well as they keep the clothing stores, it is so on.

having a decently priced option for accessories would be nice. These look cuter than IKEA, too. I like the button pillows.

I change my design asthetic like I change my hair color so I would definitely welcome a low priced alternative to cool home accessories.

I have to see them in person. The teatowels in the beige section don't look that bad, but I have to touch the fabric, as I am a haptic person.

I stopped finding H&M a reliable source for anything a while ago. I am tall and fit is a problem, as well as finding the stores themselves increasingly unpleasant experience.

The wares above look like cheap little space-fillers. I agree with the person in the original post (you know, adding a survey when comments are adequate doesn't make reposting this come off any better) about this being sort of Urban Outfitters-like, and at least to some degree, Target. Cheap, hipster stuff for young people to consume and outgrow in a year, real temporary design. Nothing above appears to be so wonderful you wouldn't see it in some cheaper home goods store, I already envision it. It's a matter of context. Things are hipper if they come from a store associated with hipness and fashion; things seem tackier if they are found in stores associated with discounted last year's rejects, whether they are finely made or cheaply assembled. I must be old, I can't figure out what's so great about those button pillows.

Well stated, KTG - IMO, it's just alot of future landfill that's been designed to look appealing on the shelf.
