wow, west elm! what a nice table... inexpensive and beautiful!

I'm in love with that west elm table, especially the chairs that go with it. i wish they also made a similar rectangular table, the roung one won't work in my place.

I bought the west elm table and chairs (a BIG splurge for me) and while they look great together... up close you can see the quality isn't so hot. Structurally both table and chairs are very sturdy so far but the wood surface looks... odd on the chairs esp. Also, I scratched the table top WHILE assembling it and the wood just isn't sucumbing to any of my usual scratch hiding tricks.

We bought one of room and board's pedestal tables off of craigslist and love it. the only problem is that the bottom of the pedestal is so big that you can't tuck your chairs all the way under the table. I would keep this in mind when buying a table. I know I will next time around.

This is the one we bought, the Axis. The photos make the base look a lot smaller though. Maybe the changed the design.

I have the R&B Axis table too (I actually have the exact same pairing as the R&B pic; so much for originality!) but my chairs do go all the way under the table. It is probably a newer design change.

I do love the table. It doesn't wobble, and the butcher block top that I opted for is very durable and withstands all kinds of abuse.

the brocade home table best suits my style...I am in love with it!

I bought our round dining table at a local auction and paid a very low price for it. I'd be lusting after one for years.

I love the Brocade Home table! Anyone know about their quality? I've never seen anything from that store in person.

i'm also looking for a round table... i want something modern and extendable... but not too pricey. i was wondering about ikeas bjursta in the brown black or yellow brown.

is the brown/black more on the brown side or black?

These are all great and could all work in a variety of settings.

I would love to see the one from Brocade in bare wood, or maybe a weathered zinc or copper.

I voted for the Turned Pedestal Dining Table - Brocade Home. Reason being is that if the table fits 4 people comfortable, you might be able to squeeze a 5th person without them having to straddle one of the legs on the other tables. I think pedestal dining tables are great for leg room.

Love all of them. I looked for a round dining table for a long time. Most of them are 48", and I ended up buying a vintage wood pedestal table on Ebay for about $500 that is 53".

I also voted for the Brocade Home table. The tabletop's diameter looks smaller than the others', which might be an issue, but I think it's more versatile. I could only see the other two tables with modern chairs, but the pedestal could work with traditional or modern. I also second mva1201's point about the advantage of no table legs when adding an extra person. And finally, it's just a beautiful table!
