All the way from Working Class Concepts, a collective of students and artists from the Savannah College of Art and Design, these coasters made their way to Hazel, a specialty shop in Ravenswood.
The coasters (at 5" x 5" each) are crafted from Baltic Birch plywood, followed by a hand screen printing process, and are based on the original design by J. Camille Howe, a SCAD grad in Furniture Design.
These coasters make us want to actually use them (we have a few sets that generally sit untouched), just so we can stare at the modern mesh print every time we pick up or set down a glass. Hazel sells

Love them! I've been looking for some coasters, especially with this hot weather and major condensation on glasses -- we're in the other boat and actually need to use some but don't have any. These are sharp!!
Coincidently, I got an email from Hazel today announcing their move to a new space at 921 S. Loomis. They are having a Grand Opening Party and Fall Preview on Friday, August 4, 2006 from
5pm-9pm
great to know, thanks kathryn!
