Fashion-inspired housewares? We usually notice this kind of fusion of fashion on towels and prints, but plates? We like it, even though we are generally pretty stuck on plain white plates. In this set of four designs by Charles S. Anderson, each are 10" melamine. We first spotted them in
BUST magazine, then again on
Elsewares, Independent Art & Design online. These may be just right for someone's dining style. Any Chicago takers? (More pics below the jump.)

A set of four runs $40 from Elsewares.
I love these, I just wish they were offered in different colors. The colors used are strangely 70's in flavor instead of the brighter more primary colors of the 60's when those dress styles were worn.
There's a Chicago boutique that carries these plates, if you'd like to check them out in person. I can't remember the name of the shop but it's a small place on the 4700 block of North Lincoln, pretty much right next door to Merz Apothecary.
I've seen these before too. They might look good on a wall, but I can't imagine food looking good on them. The colors turn me off as well as the human figures. I have Thomas Paul's Aviary plates and eat off them with relish. Anyone know the ones I mean? I bought them at Velocity but now I only see them on Ebay.
I heard Thomas Paul is coming out with more plates designs this fall.
Loftparty.com might still sell the Aviary plates but they were a little hard to find.
