We probably wouldn't own either the Nero flatware or the Meret set, but having just seen them in person at Crate & Barrel, we were surprised by their attention grabbing appeal (especially the Meret).

Meret stainless steel pieces "are gilded with a durable matte gold finish." Nero stainless steel are coated in a gunmetal finish. Slick, eye-catching, festive!

I love these, but recently went with Crate & Barrel's Clark flatware as it is much more affordable, timeless, and has an awesome selection of serving utensils.
