Glass Wine Carafe with Wood Stopper

051407glasscarafe.jpgOur wine typically goes straight from bottle to glass to mouth; we don't take the #2 Carafe step.

We recognize, however, that this step is a nice no-label addition to a lovely, full table setting.

This carafe from Koo de Kir includes a suprising juxtaposition of a round, wood stopper, rather than an expected cylindrical glass one.

And...it's only $39.50.

How many of you use wine carafes? Can you link us to some great ones out there?

Decanting isn't just for decoration - for certain wines (good ports, for example) - decanting is a neccessary step in getting the best flavor! Give it a shot sometime :)

Decanting is essential for all good wines -it lets them breathe and magnifies the flavors.
