Adornment for Dinner. Browsing at Unica Home, we saw these remarkable new dishes by illustrator Klaus Haapaniemi for Iittala. Decadent, dreamlike, folkloric and slightly surreal, we'd love to see a full-on dinner party done up with Taika, talk about a feast!

If you think a counterbalance to the highly decorative dinnerware is needed, they can be paired with Heikki Orvola's Aika, also from Iittala, as they share the same shape/design.
More info on Klaus Haapaniemi can be found on the Iittala site.
Available from Unica Home, ranging from $10. to $38 per piece, in blue or white.
Pretty. It reminds me of Bjorn Wiinblad.

These have been for sale here in Europe since last year and I've been wanting them since then... SO gorgeous! I'm a plain white dishes kind of girl, but this set may just make me reconsider. How much are they at home? I wonder if they're cheaper here...

it's interesting to see the return of the folk artsy/crafty imagery creeping back into decor-reminiscent of the seventies...I think of it as a reaction to all the super slick computer generated stuff that saturated the markets-we're getting back to a sense of history, back in touch with nature!!!I love it,it reminds me of my childhood!!!

These are so beautiful. I'm particularly enamored of those espresso cups and saucers.
