Vintage Decor: Tabletop from Three Potato Four

vintagetabletop111708.jpgDressing a table for guests should be fun. It can get a little uptight sometimes, when you give in to the feeling that everything has to be "perfect". We think any one of these vintage items would shake things up, add a sense of history and humor and make for a just funky-enough presentation for a casual brunch, lunch or dinner:

Clockwise from top left:

Sculptural Lighting: Dansk Wood Candlestick Trio for $48

Royal Seasonings: Figgjo King and Queen Salt and Pepper Shakers for $125

Serve up Something Tasty: Green + Blue Blossom Plate for $24

Perfect for a Daisy or Two: Stoneware Camel Vessel for $120

I totally want those king and queen salt and pepper shakers. They remind me of my grandparents house that had plates very similar to that design.

Uptight? What era are we in? This stuff is cute, but you need to be very careful with old stoneware and the lead in the glazes, esp. if it was imported. The standards weren't as strict as they are to day.

And $125 salt/pepper?

I avoid buying at this store. The items are cute but the mark ups are crazy. Better to buy on etsy or ebay.

I agree. I love the selections but the prices are ridiculous. I've bought similar items on Ebay for less than 1/3 what they charge. I get their email newsletter and today I saw a cute 2" wooden mushroom candle holder - $40.00!!! But, it already sold so I guess there's a market out there.
