Plans For Famous Celebrity Homes
The Gallery: Mark Bennett

We've come to accept the fact that there are some things we geek out about, more so than others. Usually it involves a new piece of furniture, or maybe a lamp, but in this case, it's entire houses. Or the plans of entire houses to be exact. Did we mention they're from famous tv characters? Guess who lives in each, after the jump!

Mark Bennetts plans for these famous tv spaces is an interesting way to think about the living rooms and backyards we're oh so familiar with. So often in sitcoms, we think rooms and not the house as a whole (since it's obviously a stage). But Mark's reproduction of each house is a fun look back on the tv of yesteryear.

Some of these homes are a bit more obvious than others, for instance, The Jetson's circular abode, or the Jeannie's bottle. But do you remember who Darrin Stevens is? How about Laura Petrie? Click through each link for the answers.

First Row:

Home of Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, Gotham City
Home of Darrin and Samantha Stevens, Paterson NY
Home of Rob & Laura Petrie, New Rochelle NY
Home of Jeannie
Jetson's Residence

Second Row
The Town of Mayberry
Home of Fred and Wilma Flintstone, Bedrock USA

Mark Bennet: one of my favorite artists!

Darrin Stevens: Samantha's ad-man husband on Bewitched. Played by two different actors. Dick Sargeant and Dick York.

I'd love to have a framed copy of Wayne Manor up on my wall. It would go so well with my Proposed Freeway System for LA from the late 40s and early 50s.

"Jetson's Residence" instead of "Home of the Jetsons" would be better. You would never use the word "home" on technical drawings. Otherwise... pretty freakin' sweet idea. I'd love one of Serenity from Firefly, or maybe even Fraggle Rock. lol.

Why does it seem like every time I discover something, AT does the week after? You're missing The Addams Family's home which is my favorite.

I would love a copy of the Petrie residence, I have always wanted to design a similar house for myself.

Isn't Mr. Wayne's piano backwards on the plan or did he have the piano custom built? Was Batman left-handed?

So what about the Jefferson's and Bunker's?

I'm glad he got the Jenkin's, but what about Sandra Clark's apartment? Maaaarrryyy!

But honestly, way too much time on one's hand can be bad... (wonder if the original sets have plans laying around somewhere, now THAT would be interesting). One of my friends grew up in a mirror image (and less open) version of the Steven's. Same shag and everything.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, AT!

About 15 years ago, these were showcased hanging in a Silverlake/Los Feliz restaurant bar called Cobalt Cantina. I always remembered them and always regretted not buying one — or at least getting the artist's name! It was during a time when art and decorating were not at all important to me like it is today.

I've been on the hunt for these for a very, very long time. It's the little things that make me happy!
