Introducing Kariann Fuqua...

 
 

Kariann's show On Unstable Ground closes at the Hyde Park Art Center this week (on Feb. 9), but much of her work, which focuses on Chicago's "forgotten landscape," remains on our minds. These fantastical and unexpected color combinations and architectural/structural disruptions in shape would command serious attention in an otherwise stable home environment. We'd love to see one of these on a living room wall.

I don't think they are anything like Rutyer's work--and far from a 'knock-off'. They appear to be different in inspiration and execution. Personally, Fuqua's work is more up my alley, but that is what is great about art -- there is something for everyone!
