The Gallery: Bruce Riley

111908rileyexhibition.jpgWe recently had the opportunity to visit the Chicago studio of painter Bruce Riley. The large-scale paintings (some up to 6') show the influence of the natural sciences and physics on the work. With a strikingly graphic repetition of shapes and colors, the results are stunning in their depth and texture, and would look amazing at home.

Gorgeous. What a cool concept...using circles for everything.

I am in love with scratch opera. I think this piece could work almost anywhere.

I had the pleasure of checking out Riley's solo exhibit and talk earlier this year in Cincinnati. His work is much richer and more textured than you might imagine from photos, and he's incredibly generous with inspiring advice and insight into his process. Thanks for sharing!
