The Gallery: Siggi Eggertsson's Portraits

031209-portraits.jpg The phrase, family portrait usually brings to mind thoughts of matching turtle neck sweaters staged in a grassy meadow; but this geometric take on the ordinary by Siggi Eggertsson is a fun twist. Siggi designed a book containing 60 of these pieces, click through the jump for a glimpse at a few more...

031209-portraits2.jpg Although you can't see the smiles on the faces of the people in these portraits, we still like the effect on the traditional picture that can often times feel cheesy hanging over your relatives mantel. Or if you're anything us, if your family portrait was done in this manner, no one will remember that you crossed your eyes when you were 6 because your cousins dared you too!

031209-portraits1.jpg The portraits were done for a book back in 2005 that is still seeking the right publisher! We hope there's one soon, as this would be a great addition to most any bookshelf.

031209-portraits3.jpg You can read more about Siggi and his work from his website, blog and even check out a few of the things in his store that are up for sale!
