Bisazza Mosaic Tiles: 2009 Collection Preview

Bisazza is the Italian maker of very beautiful mosaics. While doing some tile research for bathroom month, we got sidetracked to the Bisazza site, where the 2009 collection is previewed. We grabbed some photos of the new looks which are showcased frequently in sitting rooms - this company is all about taking tile out of the bathroom and kitchen and into the rest of the house...

I did an entire (small) bathroom in Bisazza years ago -- including the walls and floor of the shower. The grout is a holy pain in the whatever to keep clean. Cracks have opened in some places. I'm thinking of remodeling again. You cannot be a perfectionist and have these tiles in a bath. Even when they are installed, there are always some tiles that have corners chipped off. You just have to embrace the whole look. But I've grown tired of them.

I did 2 bathrooms in Vidrotil, which is more like the Raku-equivalent in glass mosaic tiles. (if that makes any sense!... I have a head cold, clarity is not my thing today).

I'm not tired of mosaics, but I think the next *in* tile is going to be Morocan Zelliges from Emery et Cie.; they have been showing up in many of my European design magazines:

The diamond pool is quite tacky, but I love the others!

Beautiful tiles, I recently just remodeled my kitchen backsplash and my bathroom and I've chosen to go with Moorish style or Moroccan style. Check out this place they have some amazing handmade tiles: http://www.sainttropezboutique.us/products/tiles/moroccan-tiles.aspx

    Cheers,

    Sandra,
