This week we visited the Coverings trade show at McCormick Place to check out the latest in tile. We noticed two distinct trends: lots of manufacturers were embracing natural stone and neutral palettes, and another set were more geared toward high-tech tile. Interstyle's new Stratus line, for example, fuses screenprints onto both sides of a glass tile, giving it a layered appearance. At the Iris booth, we saw "manmade stone" that imitates natural processes by crushing tile particles and firing them to 3,000 degrees...

Interstyle specializes in glass and ceramic tile. They have a showroom in New York and a number of distributors and dealers throughout the US.
Iris US is the American division of Italian manufacturer Iris Ceramica. They have a factory based in Tennessee, five US showrooms, and they work with several US distributors.

Wow, the stratus line is a complete rip-off of Skyline Design's glass patterns that have been around for 10 years. I'm surprised.
