Mini Makeover Idea : Change Out Your Rug!

032709-orangerug.jpg Chris from Style North (you remember their great lamp makeover right?) decided to change things up at home. Out went the orange Flokati rug (that we couldn't get enough of in the Fall Colors Contest) and in came something fresh and clean....

032709-whiterug.jpg The best part of this transformation is that it only cost $10... at the laundromat. He already owned the cream rug but it needed a cleaning. To the laundromat it went and now it is in place and opens this living area right up. Although we are die hard fans of the color orange, we do love the fresh Spring change to the lighter hue. It's an easy way to make a big impact for little cost. Try checking carpet remenant stores for inexpensive finds and as always... Craigslist.

Make sure to check out the full post on taking their floors from orange to creamsicle over at Style North!

Thanks Chris!

I love the blue lamps and I have been looking for lamps in this exact shade of blue for my nursery. Where did you get them?

I can really like the white.....because it is spring. In the fall I would have the orange rug back in. I really like to change with the seasons.

I love the color orange, but I think I prefer the white rug.

i truly wish i could pull this off....i like the idea. but its not very pet friendly.

my dogs see this and assume its fair game to pee/destory/hump/wipe butt on.

but those blue lamps!!! to die for!

I have seen those lamps went through my bookmarks can't find them.
A suggestion go to this blog-http://www.houseofturquoise.com/

See section Everything Turquoise, go to lighting section you might find these or something similar. Someone here turned me on to this blog and I have been infatuated ever since, especially because I like blue.

I think the orange rug was a good choice if it were black you would not be able to find that dog, seriously I like both of those..wish I could.

bellaknollie - that made me laugh..that is why I search for the right indoor outdoor rug that does not look like stiff plastic and you can hose down. My dog is actually very good, its my back patio that gets dirty and he brings that in.
