Who needs one? After a smart purchase in December (before the crazy loads of snow fell) at True Value, we are continually happy with this most basic snow shovel. Last year, we blogged a few good-looking and/or intriguing options, but at home, we continue to stick with simple, functional -- and bright yellow -- for $20.

It may be a little louder than a plastic shovel, but metal shovels work so much better than plastic. I use one that is about thirty tears old in chicago, and it cuts a real nice swath out of the snow, and you also get all of those pesky slush and icy spots under the snow. I will always pick metal.
