Top Ten: Clear Glass Table Lamps for Under $200.

2007-09-25-glass.jpg

We know there must be more. Clear glass lamp bases are a design staple for good reason. They bring light and reflective texture without adding much visual bulk, making them an easy fit into a pre-existing room design. We decided to do a top ten of affordable choices and came up with six in the price range, can you add to the list?

  • Atrium for $139.
  • Phantom for $99.
  • Jack for $179.
  • Meier for $199.
  • Blown Glass for $109.
  • Zak for $199.99

Just a warning-- I own the PB Blown Glass lamp, and while it is tres adorable, be advised that it has an open bottom, so it won't hold coins or pebbles, etc. Maybe one could put something small and free-standing under it, though.

    Do these get dusty inside?

There was a smaller knock-off of the Pottery Barn Blown Glass one at Target for about half the price. Alas, I kept waiting for yet another markdown and it ended up broken. I guess it wasn't very sturdy. There was also another similar knock-off at Kirklands for 39 dollars. Mmm. I wonder if it is still about?

Thank you for doing this! I've been obsessed with glass lamps ever since I saw the Phantom at CB2...and then Zak at Crate and Barrel.

Monkeyme--we have the Zak and as long as you don't move it around, and it's clean to begin with, it only seems to get dusty on the outside (which is easy enough to clean). No more so than other lamps.

I got my glass lamps at TJMaxx for $60 apiece. They're absolutely gorgeous, and a much better deal then the ones I had been eye-ing at Crate and Barrel. I replaced the standard-issue white shades with horizontally pleated drum shades. Now, they look seriously high-end, and each lamp ended up costing me less than $100 with the new shades!

Hi - I got my glass lamps at www.tonichome.com. I love how they look in my bedroom. I had been eyeing them for a couple of months and then I noticed that this month's issue of Lucky magazine has a promo code for 20% off everything at Tonic Home. Not quite TJMaxx prices, but I was excited to get the lamps I wanted on sale!
