But seriously, if you are committed to feeding birds:
1) Do not underestimate the amount of food birds (even the tiniest!) go through. So, while some of the designs above are gorgeous, you'd have to refill every 5 minutes...
2) You can't stop. Birds actually get dependent on the source. But if you do stop, try to taper, and stop at a time of year when food is otherwise plentiful.
