It's a fiddlehead fern.

I love the sectional, that chair, the rug, and the plant! What a great room, wish I could afford it!

Is that a flotaki rug in the first pic? I've never bought a rug and have never even considered buying one . . . until now. I would love a big fluffy white rug, but not sure what to look for. I need a larger area rug at a good price, so I bet sheepskin is out of the quesion.

Oh, and love those stripe blinds.

I love the plant too and did some searching on "fiddlehead ferns," and unless I'm missing something, I don't think that's what it is. Wikipedia says fiddlehead ferns are the "unfurled fronds of a young fern harvested for food consumption."

Any other ideas on what the plant is? Maybe it looks more like a type of tree?

4ddh: yes, thats a flokati. they're great rugs, surprisingly easy to take care of, but vacuuming is a bitch.

yeah, that is definitely a fiddleleaf fig, and although it looks good as it is in that space, its actually in pretty bad shape, with a lot of its leaves dropped. They remain relatively full if they have appropriate light, although I guess the stringy thing is working here.

We have honeycomb blinds from Smith Noble in every room of our place. They look great, plus keep the cold out during the winter and the heat out during the summer. Much cheaper than getting new windows!

Does anyone know who makes chairs like the one in the first picture? Is there a name for chairs like these?
