Escapes: Ernest Hemingway's Home Outside Havana

2007-08-06-dining.jpg

A three minute look into the Cuban "escape" for Hemingway.

His home, bought in 1940, with the original decor intact is most definitely representative of the man and his passions - bullfighting, hunting and books, books, books. We found it today on bblinks, and it is a fantastic look at a sweet (pet cemetery), quirky (a preserved lizard in a jar), not unexpected (a full bookcase in the bathroom), very un-2007 (all those hunting trophies!) home of an author we are all familiar with through his work. If you search the guardian website, they did a Henry Moore house tour a while ago too.
