We stayed in Florence for 2 days, Tuscany (about 30 min. outside of Florence) for 2 days, the Cinque Terre (mainly Vernazza) for 4 days, and Milan for 2 days. Our favorite lodging location while in Italy was this great Agriturismo in Tuscany called Podere Castellare, which was run by this cute, sweet young couple.
We met 2 other couples in Florence and again in the Cinque Terre. It was really lovely to share the experience with friends from home.
This trip was definitely a feast for all senses. But, it is definitely worth brushing up on some basic and essential Italian before visiting - just a tip. We cannot wait to go back and visit more of Italy.

Ah Cinque Terre, the ultimate color inspiration! Each little village is like a haphazardly planned apartment complex with buckets of different-colored paint splash and poured all over. And the carabiniere is the most fashion-forward police force in the world. Uniforms well tailored, and not a baggy pair of pants in sight.
