Minimalism meets maximalism. Most closely associated with paper, embossing can apply to other materials as well: tile, metal, and glass for example. How timely...I just finished an all over white on white treatment in my livingroom. A "wallpaper" stencil in gloss lacquer over the eggshell base coat. Very subtle.
