Headboard Decals

As the decal trend winds down, we're still spotting some innovative applications of peel-and-stick design. One of our recent favorites is this cheap and easy approach to a DIY headboard. As shown in these photos, headboard decals can add some drama to a simple bed or create a focal point behind a plain mattress and box springs...

They're all rather pretty . . . except the bar code.

very cool, as long as they don't ruin the paint job.

I'm not letting the decal trend die yet--I just purchased decal stickers from Ikea, and based on their failure to stay on the wall, I'll be turning my attention to other options. I'm not giving up!

The Indian-inspired one is great, but would be overwhelming in all but a large space--and I'm not convinced about it as it stands, either. It kinda forms a spaceship- or head-esque shape.

Hi everyone!!! A friend of ours called me to tell me that Dali Decals was featured on Apartment Therapy!! I just wanted to thank Apartment Therapy for featuring our headboard decals! We really appreciate the write up and the kind words. :) For the removal, betseygirl, our decals are easily removable and won't damage the drywall (or glass) surface underneath. :)

As for wall decals going out of style, I'm not sure where that notion comes from, because we are SWAMPED with orders!!! BUT for anyone who's interested in purchasing any of our items, we'd love to extend a 10% discount to you!! Just let us know you saw us on Apartment Therapy. :) You can check out our Etsy shop which is linked above, http://DaliDecals.etsy.com or checkout our site, http://www.DaliDecals.com

Thanks again!!!!

I have mixed feelings about decals... I'd imagine they might look kind of bubbly if you don't apply them just so...

i have a big wall decal of a world map from ferm LIVING, and it's amazing! i get so many compliments on it and it was super easy to put up - no bubbles, peeling, falling off or anything despite being a very intricate and large design. as long as they're used modestly, i hope this trend never ends!

I have a serious decal obsession, and spend way too much time checking them out on Etsy, but I haven't been able to bring myself to purchase one yet.

How has people's experiences been with them? Anyone recommended Etsy sellers?

i know this probably isn't a fair judgment, but they just seem like such a lazy approach to design.
