Ornamental stars: a quick, bold statement.
They've always been an easy way to grab attention or fill a space, all the while keeping things simple and graphic. Now you can pick one up, along your mustache bleach and Halloween candy, at your neighborhood CVS.
Spotted at the CVS at 3033 N. Broadway, these 24" rust-resistant metal indoor/outdoor stars are on sale for $15.
They seem solid enough (because, honestly, how substantial does an ornament need to be?). The trying-to-be-bronze color is a little odd but we think it'd look sharp in the context of a space. Then again, there's always white spray lacquer...!

The "trying to be bronze" color is called "copper."
Perhaps CVS' shipping system malfunctioned -- copper stars belong in Arizona, and our local CVS doesn't carry them, being knee-deep in Midwestern-style autumn harvest tchotchkes. Want to trade a copper star for a nice ceramic pumpkin?

Copper stars are everywhere in Texas. I've seen ones that are 4 feet across embellishing everything from walls to fences to retired motorcycles.

You could always spray paint it a fun, bold color and once it dries go over it with some sandpaper for a weathered look.

I picked one up at a christmas tree store for $1 in cape cod last year. it is still decorating the inside of my garage, along with the spray paint that says, "Yo MTV raps," from the previous owner. Can anyone recommend a spray lacquer?
