apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Minakani Wallpaper

Paris-based design studio Minakani creates "candid vintage quirky optimistic poetic" wall designs that welcome a little restraint in the rest of the room. We not only love each of these designs (even the '80s throwback lightning bolts) in and of themselves, but the application in each of the rooms shown here comes across as near perfection: typically only one wall or section is covered, with no need to hang a bunch of stuff.

Visit Minakani's news, selection, and info online here (and to inquire about pricing info). Then let the designers know your wall dimensions, and they'll ship to you.

I'm not really fond of most of these (I've never really liked wallpaper with recognizable images) but I completely love that first one, it sort of reminds me of counting days, but in a good way :) and I love that it fades out up the wall.

I also love the first one. I'm trying to figure out if I can do that fade effect on the cheap when I repaint my bedroom. It seems like there should be some way to get paint to do something similar...

I love the chairs in the first pic. Does anyone know where they're from?

I wish I had a way of making some of these fit into my life.

I like the bird papers. But that poor child is scared of his wallpaper.

I like the idea of putting scary wallpaper in a child's room. Might help accelerate their ability to cope with a scary world.

Except maybe for the first o ne with the hash marks and the white on black "hand drawn" grid, I seriously dislike all of these. They would seem VERY dated in about five minutes, too.

I love the table and chairs. Does anyone know where to find those?
