"Splash Proof" Wallpaper from Graham & Brown

20080124paper7.jpgThis looks like tile, right? Care to make things interesting...?

Put your money away; we'll just call this one a gentleman's wager. This "Mosaic" wall covering is actually part of Graham & Brown's Contour Series, a collection of wallpapers made specifically for kitchens and baths. If you think we just saved you some money, Graham & Brown proclaim their wallpaper to be an "economical and easy-to-apply alternative to tiling."

Since it's wallpaper, there are many patterns to choose from and not all of them are on the grid...

20080124paper12.jpgWe love the diner-esque feel Pots & Pans (see right) would give to a small kitchen. It works especially well with small pops of red dishware. The Geo Shoot Green (see left) would look amazing as a backsplash or as an accent wall in an updated bath.

20080124paper11.jpgWe must note the Graham & Brown Contour Series is water-resistant but not waterproof, which means this wallpaper is not meant to line the inside a bathtub or shower enclosure. Once you know that, you can go color or greyscale and floral or geometric crazy.

MY JAW IS ON THE GROUND.

Yes, that required ALL CAPS.

I'm doing over my bathroom this year and this will definitely be added to the mix.

I really hate it when things I've been secretly eyeing end up in such a public place!!! Wahhh!!! It is like having your space stolen in Scrabble.

Jenzoe--what's that quotation about nothing being original?

I used the mosaic wallpaper in my mother's bath and it looked wonderful.

I also used Graham and Brown's beadboard wallpaper on the insets of my old kitchen cupboards. They truly look like new cabinets.

The wallpaper is very thick and spongey and it seemed like I had to change the blade in my razor knife more often than with regular wallpaper. I didn't find that a drawback at all given the excellent results.

I just got a roll of the beadboard paper. Does it harden up when you paint it? It's spongy and you can indent with a fingernail....
